Information We Access on Your Device

ChordyMatch uses Android's Notification Listener Service solely to read the currently playing song's metadata (artist name and song title) from music app notifications (e.g., Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music).

We do not read notification content from messaging apps, email, SMS, or any other non-media applications. We do not record audio, access your microphone, or read your screen content.

What We Collect

When you use ChordyMatch, we receive the current track information (artist and song name) from your device to fetch matching guitar chords. This information is used exclusively for that purpose and is not associated with any personal identifier.

We also collect standard technical data such as the requested song and artist names for server-side caching and aggregated analytics (cache hit rates, unique song requests). We do not collect your IP address, device ID, location, or any personally identifiable information.

How We Use Data

The track information is used exclusively to retrieve and display guitar chords. We do not create user profiles, track listening habits over time, or correlate requests to identify individual users. Each request is processed independently.

Data Storage & Caching

To provide fast chord lookup, we cache results on our servers for up to 30 days. Cached data contains only the artist, song, and chord content — no personal identifiers. This data cannot be traced back to any specific user or device.

Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties for marketing, advertising, or any other purpose. We do not use third-party analytics services that track individual users.

Data Deletion

Since we do not collect personal data or associate requests with individual users, there is no personal data to delete. Cached chord data expires automatically within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

ChordyMatch is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

We may update this policy periodically. Any changes will be posted on this page.
